The Liann Bordeau-Buck Memorial Foundation has recently announced the 2023 scholarship winners, who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to science education and community service. This year, ten (10) Berkshire County public high school seniors were selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship to pursue a degree in science at an accredited four-year college or post-secondary institution in the United States.

The scholarship winners include Camdyn McKillop, Abigail Szymanski and Jane Wong from Taconic High School, Kiera Devine and Jacklie Roccabruna from Pittsfield High School, Vivianna Belanger from McCann Technical High School, Alex Del Vecchio from Lenox Memorial High School, Avery Vale-Cruz from Wahconah Regional High School, Chloe King from Hoosac Valley High School, and Jacob Bianco from Lee High School.

To be eligible for the $1,000 scholarship, students had to maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, as well as demonstrate a commitment to school, extracurricular activities, and community service. The Liann Bordeau-Buck Memorial Foundation is proud to support these outstanding students on their educational journey and wishes them all the best in their future endeavors.

In addition to the $1,000 scholarships, the Liann Bordeau-Buck Memorial Foundation also offers $500 scholarship opportunities. Each year, the Foundation holds a charity golf tournament to raise funds to support its commitment of offering Berkshire County public high school seniors scholarship opportunities. Golfers are given an opportunity to nominate Berkshire County public high school seniors who uphold the values of the Foundation as part of a charity golf tournament. This year, Nathan Overbaugh and Juliet Robinson were chosen at random by Wyatt Buck, son of Liann, to receive the $500 scholarship. Overbaugh is a graduate of Mount Greylock Regional High School and will be attending Berkshire Community College to major in Fire Science, while Robinson, also a graduate of Mount Greylock Regional High School, will be attending Westfield State University to major in Social Work.

The Liann Bordeau-Buck Memorial Foundation is committed to honoring the memory of Liann Bordeau-Buck, who was dedicated to education and community service. Through these scholarships, the Foundation aims to support future generations of students who share Liann's values and passion for science education and community service.
